Akane Sano (佐野 茜, Sano Akane) is Keita Ibuki's childhood friend who has romantic feelings toward him. Her Doppeliner is Reishin's partner, Yuki Kaionji. In the anime, she is later to be revealed to be Reishin's contractee after the Holy Land appeared, and also known to be the ultimate Master Root.
Akane is married to Keita in the final episode, changing her name to Akane Ibuki (伊吹 茜, Ibuki Akane).

Akane has curly butt-length light-brown hair that has waist-length hair strands hanging on either side with bangs hanging over her forehead while she has chin-length hair strands hanging on either side and green eyes.
Etymology[]
- The name Akane means "deep red, dye from the rubia plant" (茜).
- Akane's surname Sano means "help, aid" (佐) (sa) and "field, wilderness" (野) (no).
- Her married name Ibuki means "that one" (伊) (i) and "blow, breathe, puff, emit, smoke" (吹) (fuki/buki).
